The spirit world in scripture
Father God teaches us about the spirit world by giving us in scriptures shadows of realities in the spirit world. The shadow of a tree is not the same as a tree. A shadow is not living but the tree is alive. A shadow is two dimensional but a tree has more dimensions than two. When God instructed His people to build a physical structure, such as the tabernacle, He was inviting them to imagine what that structure might look like as a living reality in the spirit world. Selah.
The physical world as a shadow of the spirit world
"Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ." Colossians 2:16-17
The religious festivals God required of the Israelites are described in Leviticus 23.
